2 Positions: Technical Sales Specialist (Engine Group) 

                  Technical Sales Specialist (Airframe Group) Location: Wheeling, IL

Base Salary: $45-$55k plus uncapped quarterly commissions (2nd year-OTE-$70k)

Reports to: Product Manager Our client is an international trading company for aviation parts located in Wheeling, IL.  So, what does that mean?  The company buys commercial aircraft parts (engines, airframes, etc.) and sends them out to be repaired at FAA facilities. Then, the company remarkets and sells the repaired parts to different airlines and customers like Boeing, Airbus etc around the world.

The Product Specialists are the brains of the company. They are/will become an expert in their specific product group (either engines or airframes). They know what parts to buy and what to sell them for in order to make profit in the open market and to customers. Their job is to communicate with the sales team and decide what parts to buy, enter the parts into their CRM system, send the parts to be repaired, track the purchase and repair orders and remarket/sell the parts to customers. JOB DESCRIPTION   Basic Function: Maintain optimal product throughput, achieve quarterly gross margin targets, and maintain adequate account coverage by utilizing existing relationships and resources within the company. 

Principal Duties and Activities

The Specialist will support the selling and purchasing operations and will carry out a variety of tasks and functions in support of the Product Line (either engines or airframes).  The incumbent will be responsible  for maintaining efficient and profitable  support for the day  to day operations  of the Product Line  by maintaining  communication to support  sales, issuing and tracking purchase orders and repair orders, providing daily quotes, and any other related tasks assigned  by the Product Manager. Responsibilities

The incumbent in this position is responsible for (the following results):

  • Purchases of items for inventory at projected gross profit levels
  • Maintains select strategic accounts directly as necessary. 
  • Process custome rinquiries and provide quality responses. 
  • Establish competitive pricing levels forc ustomer inquiries 
  • Maintain inventory database withup-to-date market information, pricing, technical notes, and cross reference information. 
  • Coordinate and communicate with sales and trading group to secure sales and purchasing transactions. 
  • Identify material available with the sales and trading group. 
  • Monitor daily backlog to ensure sales,repairs,andpurchases are adequately processed. 
  • Identify material for repair, initiate, coordinate, and negotiate accurate repair processes and pricing 
  • Assist in achieving product line profit and inventory turn goals. 
  • Selling engine products though answering the ILS phone line. 

Performance Requirements

  • Normal business hours,with additional time as required, 5 days/week

Job Requirements

Required Education and/or Experience:

The incumbent in this position will be required to have the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Strong PC literary skills 
  • Ability to work in fast paced and highly technical environment 
  • Ability to articulate and compose business opportunities 
  • Team Player with Strong Interpersonal Skills
