Job Description

Seeking experienced Medical Biller for a rapidly growing Medical Device Company in Northbrook, IL.  This position will be responsible for the overall functions of daily billing cycle. 

Salary: $40-$50k (depending on experience)


Job Responsibilities:

·      Oversee billing process for orthopedic and workman’s comp involving a knowledge of medical coding, charge entry, claims submissions, payment posting, accounts receivable follow-up, and reimbursement management. 

·      Serve as the practice expert and go to person for all coding and billing processes. 

·      Plan and direct patient insurance documentation, billing and collections, and data processing to ensure accurate billing and efficient account collection. 

·      Analyze billing and claims for accuracy and completeness; submit claims to proper insurance entities and follow up on any issues. 

·      Prepares and analyzes accounts receivable reports, weekly and monthly financial reports.

·      Ensures that the activities of the billing operations are conducted in a manner that is consistent with overall department protocol, and are in compliance with Federal, State, and payer regulations, guidelines, and requirements. 

·      Keep up to date with carrier rule changes and implement related changes.

·      Understands and remains updated with current coding and billing regulations  




·      Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees, patients, provider staff and management.

·      Skill in implementation and, and administration of efficient, quality work processes.

·      Detail oriented and able to handle interruptions and distractions from phones and team

·      Effectively communicate with physicians, patients, insurers and staff. 

Job Requirements


·      Associates degree preferred 

·      Certified billing/coding certification is a plus. 



·      Minimum of 2 years Medical Insurance/Healthcare Billing and Collections experience in a medical practice or health system, with an understanding of medical billing rules and regulations.
